Black Light Portraiture.

A blacklight body painting portrait shoot using UV lighting, commissioned for NPhoto and PhotoPlus magazines.

Our model Bou here was incredible, and so was our makeup artist Amelia. We hired a couple of UV LED battens and gathered a handful of UV paints. Other than the body painting, the main challenge to overcome here was the low light emitted by the UV lamps. So all the usual low light techniques came in to play -a high ISO, a long exposure, a tripod, a wide aperture - or a combination of all of these things - to overcome the problem of crafting a usable exposure in low light.
